His brothers were Gerymbas, Aspondus, Polydophus, Crambus and CyllomiusHe and his brothers refused Aphrodite sanctuary on the island of Rhodes, causing the goddess to punish them with madness. In their madness they attacked and raped their mother. While their mother attempted suicide and became the goddess Leucothea, he and his brothers were punished and killed by Poseidon. While their bodies were buried, their souls were trapped on earth, becoming the eastern spirits who inhabited the sea-caverns of the island of Rhodes.
