Mantineus was a son of Lycaon, and by him a prince of Arcadia. He was killed along with his brothers by Zeus when Lycaon was punished for his crimes.
Mantineus was one of Lycaon's fifty sons, a prince of Troy. He would later have many children, including Aglaea, who would become the mother of Acrisius and Proetus by Abas. After his father tested Zeus' immortality and being turned into a werewolf, Zeus killed most of Lycaon's sons including Mantineus.
