Gorgythion was an illegitimate son of King Priam of Troy. He was killed by Teucer during the Trojan War.

History[]

Gorgythion was the son of Priam and a woman named Castianeira. He was a promising soldier, and well trained.

During the Trojan War, Gorgythion was killed by Teucer, the prince of Salamis. Teucer shot an arrow, intended for Prince Hector. Teucer aims two arrows at Hector, but kills first Gorgythion and next Hector's friend Archeptolemus, which served to increase the impression of Hector's elusiveness and strength. He also served to shame Teucer, having killed two of his enemies not out of honor or intent, but out of sheer accidental luck.
