Almus was a son of King Sisyphus and brother of Glaucus, Ornytion and Thersander. He was a prince of Ephyra and a descendant of Prometheus.
History[]
Almus received a small tract of land in Orchomenus from King Eteocles and dwelt there; a village was believed to have been named Almones (later named Olmones) after him.
Almus also had two daughters, Chryse and Chrysogeneia. Chryse would later become a consort of Ares and become the mother of Phlegyas, who later inherited the kingdom of Orchomenus from Eteocles, as he had died childless. Chrysogeneia became a consort of Poseidon and became the mother of Chryses. Chryses would later succeed Phlegyas as King, as he had also died childless.
Chrysogeneia had by Poseidon a son Chryses, who succeeded Phlegyas as king of Orchomenus. Chryses later became the father of Minyas.
